About the General AI Proficiency Institute

Our Founder

GenAIPI was founded by Jon Cheney — an entrepreneur, technologist, and AI strategist who has spent over two decades building technology companies and leading teams through digital transformation.

Jon founded GenAIPI because he saw a critical gap: companies were either ignoring AI entirely or adopting it without strategy, creating dependence instead of capability. GenAIPI exists to bridge that gap — installing AI transformation systems that build lasting internal capability.

What We Believe

We believe the organizations that will thrive in the AI era are the ones that treat AI as infrastructure, not magic. That means structured systems, clear leadership, and capability building — not one-off workshops or theoretical consulting.

We are an ongoing AI infrastructure partner, not a consultant who leaves.

Our Services

Frequently Asked Questions

What does GenAIPI do?

GenAIPI installs a structured AI Transformation System inside organizations — led by a dedicated fCAIO (fractional Chief AI Officer) team — with a monthly cadence, 90-day roadmap, and ongoing capability building. Combined with hands-on team training, enterprise-wide assessment, and certification, we become your permanent AI infrastructure.

Who founded GenAIPI and why?

GenAIPI was founded by Jon Cheney, a technologist and executive who recognized that the greatest risk of the AI era isn't job displacement — it's the loss of human agency. He built GenAIPI to help leaders act with intention, build internal capability, and ensure their people thrive alongside AI rather than being replaced by it.

What makes GenAIPI different from other AI training companies?

We install a structured AI Transformation System inside your company — your ongoing AI infrastructure. Your assigned fCAIO team runs a monthly cadence that produces results automatically, builds internal AI champions, and continuously evolves your capabilities as AI advances. Our training is hands-on creation, not passive learning.

What is the GenAIPI Doctrine?

The GenAIPI Doctrine is our founding philosophy: AI may assist, amplify, and accelerate — but it must never replace human responsibility, human judgment, human creation, human service, or human becoming. We believe human agency, adaptability, and purposeful creation are the capabilities that matter most in the AI era.
